Description:

Sugargraze is a medium-late flowering, sweet sorghum x sweet sorghum hybrid. It delivers top-quality production thanks to high sugar levels at all growth stages; even after full maturity. The high sugar content increases palatability, minimising wastage when used as foggage in winter; without a doubt the best foggage available in the market!

Sugargraze also makes excellent silage; relative to maize, it can produce silage with about 5% lower energy / kg but a higher total energy / ha under marginal dryland conditions.

Sugargraze, like all sorghums, is very drought tolerant – it can come to a complete standstill during stress periods to wait for the rain. There is a risk of prussic acid poisoning when plants are exposed to stressful conditions. Sugargraze is very sensitive to low soil temperatures; minimum soil temperature should be >15 °C for seed to germinate and seedlings to establish.

Uses: Silage, Foggage, Grazing or a combination thereof.

Hybrid pearl millet: Nutrifeed.

Nutrifeed is a daylight-length sensitive (ultra-late flowering) hybrid pearl millet. Reproduction is initiated by a 12-hour, 20-minute night, meaning that vigorous, vegetative growth can be expected until end of March, provided conditions are favourable. It provides leafy summer grazing of good quality, which is comparable to the quality of oats in winter.

Nutrifeed runs zero risk of prussic acid poisoning and can be grazed by any class of animal. Under favourable conditions, it can establish quickly and produce first grazing within 4 – 7 weeks. It has good regrowth potential if not grazed below 15 cm.

Nutrifeed is most sensitive to low soil temperatures; minimum soil temperature should be >18°C for seed to germinate and seedlings to establish. As a defence mechanism, Nutrifeed becomes unpalatable to livestock under stressful conditions. These include low Phosphate (P) levels in the soil, and drought. The palatability will recover within 10 days once fertilized with P and / or irrigated or receiving rain. Concep-treatment of seed will not protect Nutrifeed against the use of pre-emergence grass herbicides.

Uses: Grazing, green chop.

Forage sorghum: Sentop Plus.

Sentop Plus is an early-flowering, Sorghum x Sudan-grass hybrid. Relative to some other forage sorghums, this cultivar is very leafy. It has good regrowth potential, which makes it a good choice for green pasture or green fodder in summer. Nevertheless, it does not remain vegetative as late into the season as Nutrifeed.

Sentop Plus, like all sorghum varieties, is very drought tolerant – it can come to a complete halt during stress periods to wait for the rain. Plants can however cause prussic acid poisoning when they are subjected to stressful conditions. It has good regrowth potential if not grazed below 15 cm. In favourable conditions, it can establish quickly and produce its first grazing within 6-8 weeks. Nutrifeed can be grazed earlier as there is no rick of prussic acid poisoning.

Sentop Plus is very sensitive to low soil temperatures; minimum soil temperature should be >15°C for seed to germinate and seedlings to establish.

Uses: Grazing, green chop.

Our service areas: South Africa; Lesotho; Namibia; Eswatini; Madagascar and Mauritius.

QUALITY, GUARANTEED.

Need some guidance?

Don’t hesitate to contact any of our area representatives if you need any assistance.

Limpopo – Gauteng - Mpumalanga

Natal – Eastern Freestate

Northwest – Freestate – North Cape

East – South – West Cape

Lesotho – Swaziland - Namibia

Are you following us on Instagram?

Looking for our product catalogue?

Farm successfully with our range of versatile soybean cultivars:

LS 6240 R* 4.2 growth class.

LS 6146 R* 4.6 growth class.

NS 5258 R* 4.9 growth class.

LS 6248 R* 5.0 growth class.

LS 6851 R* 5.5 growth class.

NS 5909 R* 5.9 growth class.

L5 6161 R* 6.1 growth class.

LS 6164 R* 6.1 growth class.

LS 6860 R* 6.2 growth class.

NS 6448 R* 6.4 growth class.

LS 6868 R* 6.8 growth class.

LS 678 5.8 growth class.

*ROUNDUP READY® Soybean trademark is used under Monsanto Technology LLC license.

Visit our website.

Visit our Facebook page.
