Load-shedding survival kit - entry level:
This kit is designed for power backup during load-shedding for a small business or small households. It consists of a 3kVA/2.4kW Axpert type inverter with built-in MPPT solar charge controller (more info), two 200AH AGM/Gel lead acid batteries and a battery balancer.
Solar panels can be added at a later stage to assist with charging the batteries or supplying the load during the day.
Battery duration:
· 2 hours @ 670W load
· 4 hours @ 380W load
· 8 hours @ 210W load
The following is required for installation:
· 25mm2 or 35mm2 battery cables with connectors
· Battery circuit breaker or fuse (125A)
· AC circuit breaker for supply (20A)
· AC circuit breaker for distribution (15A)
· Other electrical items such as earth leakage, wiring, DB board which can be supplied by a qualified electrician.
The system has a 1 year warranty. More information on the warranty can be found here.
Important: The inverter will require the following settings in order to function as a backup system:
· Setting 01 : UTI
· Setting 02 : 20A
· Setting 05 : USE / USR
· Setting 12 : 24.5V
· Setting 13 : 27V
· Setting 16 : CUT
· Setting 26 : 28.2V
· Setting 27 : 27.6V
· Setting 29 : 24V
Please take note that only the first 4 wires on the battery balancer will be required for a 24V system. Do not use the other wires on the balancer for the 24V system.
