Description
Magnesium sulphate is an odourless white exiguous acicular or oblique-pillar crystal with a bitter taste. Easily efflorescent in dry air and easily soluble in water. Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate (epsomite, MgSO4·7H2O) is manufactured by dissolution of magnesium sulfate monohydrate (kieserite, MgSO4·7H2O) in water and subsequent crystallization of the heptahydrate.
