5269 is a direct replacement for the original Lucas M45 LRS157 starter motor. Commonly fitted to a large range of tractors from, David Brown. Ferguson and Fordson where the starter motor is mounted on the right-hand side of the engine. Manufactured using high grade copper for the internals this ensures the starter will last and be efficient. All external joints are sealed to keep out any moisture.

Suitable for diesel tractors only.

Its not uncommon for a starter to fail after years of service, usual signs the starter motor is on its way out would be a single click from the starter or a series of rapid clicks when the ignition switch is turned to the start position, these symptoms can also point to a faulty solenoid rather than the motor itself. Due to the value for money on a completely new starter it makes sense to change the unit rather than just the solenoid.

The solenoid has spade and bolt on terminals ready to connect the wiring up, its important to check that all the wires are making a good connection to both starter motor and tractor otherwise this could lead to further starting issues.
